What are we doing next?

The next big step is the Share Offer launch on September 15th which will open during the SwanFest at 3pm. This will run for 4-6 weeks using a crowd funding website. Depending on how much of our target amount is raised during this process will determine whether we can make an immediate offer to Wellingtons (the owners) or whether we have to arrange a bank loan to make up the difference. Either way, we would anticipate making an offer for the Swan shortly after closing the share offer.

The other significant action will be the formation of a management committee who will have responsibility for the overall management of the pub buildings and the appointment of a tenant. For details of how the management committee is organised look at the model rules document published by the Plunkett Foundation.

The next thing you will see is a flyer on your doorstep which will give you some information about SwanFest and the work that we are doing.

Assuming that we are successful in purchasing the pub, there will be a period of repair and refurbishment before the pub is able to re-open but since that will be within the responsibility of the management committee we can’t forsee how exactly that is going to work.
